Review: Burford is a lovely village in the Cotswolds. We stayed in Burford in August as part of our family holiday. Burford itself has a very pretty main street, although it is rather busy with traffic. There are a nice selection of shops ? the Sporting Antiques shop by Manfred Schotten on the main street is particularly worth a visit.
There are plenty of places to eat, though, being the Costwolds, prices are not cheap. The Cotswolds Arms hotel was one of the more reasonably priced pubs and we enjoyed a pleasant enough meal there.
Things to do nearby.
Being in the heart of the Cotswolds, there are many beautiful villages nearby which are worth visiting. In particular the Slaughters (Upper and particularly Lower), Bourton on the Water, The Rissingtons and The Barringtons are all well worth a look. |
