Review: Hebden Bridge is easily accessed via road or rail (or even canal). There is a small amount of parking. The River Calder & Rochdale canal are must see's. Small children will love to feed the ducks on the river in the town which has recently been improved with better access. You can stay for ages watching the barges and canal boats going up and down the canal & see the locks in use. There is a lovely park for the kiddies (Calder Holme) which has, this year, a big sandpit with buckets and spades for the tots to play in, or a skate park for the older ones. The town itself is lovely and has plenty of places to stop for a coffee and cake or plenty of pubs if you wish to partake. Hebden Bridge has become a Fairtrade town and has a plastic bag free status which is brilliant. Hebden Bridge is part of the Pennine Way so it's superb for walking & just a short distance away is Hardcastle Craggs a beautiful must see & Hebden is also famous for Walkley's clog factory another must see. I can't really pick any faults with Hebden Bridge, perhaps the small parking facilities but this is easily overlooked as it is so accessible by public transport. All in all, I would sum up Hebden Bridge as idyllic heaven on earth.
