Review: Much Wenlock is a wonderful place to visit to view the variation of buildings built since the 1300's. Also the birthplace of William Penny Brookes, accredited with being the founder of the Modern Olympic Games, Wenlock Olympics are held each summer.
A lovely little museum can be found at the bottom end of the High Street, which also doubles as a tourist information point.
A few nice places to stop and have lunch including tea shops and also a couple of nice pubs. The Talbot was my favourite for architecture, food and service. No special menu's available for kids, and despite a couple of the pubs having large gardens, none had childrens play areas - a real shame.
If you are based here, then you can travel onto Ironbridge or Bridgnorth and other places of interest within minutes by car. |
