Review: Rimini was, for me, very cheap. I went because it was supposedly Italy's answer to Ibiza. Well I found that to be incorrect because I landed in the middle of a geriatric festival!!! However, the weather was spot on, we stayed in a 4* hotel not too far from the centre, the restaurants were all very well priced and the food fantastic. If you are a red wine lover, try the local wine, sangiovese - this is lovely wine and very cheap locally!! The people are all very nice and there are not many english yobs around (thank god!)
I didnt get to party but I did get to relax, which is a very good thing.
top tip - on the beaches will be tourist leaflets, dont be put off by the italian exterior if you are a non-speaker because most have english translations. we went on a walking tour which cost 5 euros - it was on a coach and walking through some beautiful medieval towns. I cant remember the name of the company but they give you a useful (english) free book and they took us on a tasting tour of an olive oil factory.
we also went on a boat trip with unlimited free bubbly and squids BBQ for about 10 euros each - stunning views and a laugh because we were the youngest on the boat!! (we are both 28)
NOT somewhere to come for stag/hen dos or being rowdy, this is a very nice place. probably best for a relaxing break with your other half, or a few girlfriends catching up. |
