Review: Vale de Parra is a small town with many villas and apartments, a lot of them occupied by local residents. There is no holiday feel to this area although the local supermarkets do cater for other nationalities tastes. There are a couple of small beaches and a few restaurants but no night life as such. A hire car is essntial and you are advised to tour the Monchique regions (Foia particularly) and visit other beaches. Santa Luzia is also a very pretty place to visit with good restaurants.

    • Comment: i am afraid Dribs review is inaccurate in many ways,there are at least twenty restaurants within walking distance of vale de parra and more,also there are many beaches that are a 20 minute walk, with a buggy i may add, one of which is gale beach from which you can walk to the next town 3 kilometers away.
